Me and my husband were really impressed with all the equipment and the essential resources needed for the therapy and mam’s sensory integration methods . She did detailed assessment on the first day so we decided it’s the right place for our child . My son really enjoyed going to mam’s center and he loved the activities which was done there . My son improved so much in all the areas after attending her sessions . His expressive speech and attention improved a lot after sensory integration methods , fine motor and gross motor activities done at the clinic . Vestibular, proprioceptive activities at the center was really good and helped my son with  attention, also his core strength improved. His expressive speech and communication improved because of sensory motor activities done at the center. Mam has given more ideas on activities to do at home with the kid .That definitely helped. After a very few sessions my son got the concept of peddling and started to pedal bicycle on his own and most of his sensory issues have been reduced.

From our experience we can assure its one of the best places in this vicinity for physio and speech therapy for kids having developmental delay, autistic or CP related issues. Mam is very creative and designs therapeutic activities through interesting tasks and games. She is also specialist in sensory integrated therapy. We have been additionally benefited from mam from her observation and suggestions  on other treatments we started along with therapy. Another notable thing want to mention is the reports mam prepares yearly is with outstanding quality, we can trace the last 4 years progress looking at those reports. Priyanka is another person we are grateful. When we started speech therapy at the age of 2 our son hardly spoke one or two words and at present he is able to express in simple sentences. It's with Priyanka he started cooperating at a stretch almost for one hour for any kind of treatment sessions.

In the very first meeting you will see the evident difference between her and other "just graduated"  low experience therapists who have popped up all over Bangalore. She does a very detailed assessment on what are the issues and how it can be addressed. She's quite positive in her approach and i have rarely(almost never) seen her take any days off. In return, she expects you to be regular as it will affect progress.

She has very good ideas and a home task list  on what needs to be done as therapy even at home - day to day tasks that children can do to improve core, gross and fine motor skills. These are quite regular items which can be done by anyone - like folding clothes, sorting, doing puzzles while kneeling, walking up and down the stairs and so on

Dr. Ushma is accommodating for time as she takes into cognizance children travelling from far, after school time, traffic and so on. And her method of group therapy of at least two kids at a time is very effective as children learn from each other and also there is bonding and socialization which kids seek anyway

Dr. Ushma is too humble to give you any guarantees, but trust me, her methods work. You will certainly see a positive difference and progress after therapy, of even a few weeks and you will get similar feedback from others too.

Posted March 10, 2018 by Saju, Bangalore  Our daughter Diya started going to Dr. Ushma Goradia  and Priyanka since 2016 while she was 6 yrs old for Sensory and Speech therapy. Prior to this we have checked a lot of other  centers but the assessment and equipment used for the therapy was not as satisfactory as what we found at Active Kaarya. Thanks to Both Dr. Ushma and Priyanka for their continuous and relentless effort to ensure that the right treatment and individual attention is given to each kid.

 As what I have observed Dr. Ushma comes with abundance knowledge, great experience, a person who can pin point the concern and make corrective measure through various exercises and equipment, a guide to the parents too in building their confidence and a very dedicated person to her profession are a few words I can say about Dr. Ushma.

 Priyanka is a person with lots of patience and an ability to be stern at the same time to bring out the best in the kid.  No false promises from both of them are given to the parents.

 Diya was initially assessed in 2016 and couple of places where Diya lagged was in muti sensory issues, attention deficit, speech, postural stability, balance, gross and fine motor skills, vestibular modulation deficit.

 A plan was made, timelines fixed for the above, and the plan was implemented accordingly.  Over a point of around 3 to 6 months we could see the change in my daughter.  Significant changes started after almost a year in the way our daughter would interact, motor skill, balance etc., We continued with the therapy and are happy to see the drastic change in our daughter,  All thanks to the team at Activ Kaarya, Dr, Ushma Goradia, Deepa and Priyanka.

We would once again like to express our profound gratitude to you and team for transforming Diya from what she was to what she is today.

My son started going to them when he was 4 years old and I have seen a lot of changes in terms of his hyperactivity and sitting tolerance, his motor skills and speech improvement from words to small sentences. I would say that it is the best place in Bangalore with this kind of set up children with sensory Integration Issues and speech delays.

Best part is Madam Ushma and Priyanka both of them don't give false hopes to parents and they make us accept the fact and train us to deal with it. You are aware of each and every step they take for your child's development and they share their knowledge with you and tell you what all can be done at home, and they are very transparent about techniques they use for kids.I like the never give up attitude and positivity this place and both of them have.

My 2.9 year child was delayed in his speech and was very active and naturally as parents we were worried a lot. However with the help of Dr Ushma using Sensory Integration Technique and speech therapy from Priyanka in 6 months we have seen a lot of improvement with the result that from about 20 words then he can now speak simple sentences and make us understand his feelings.

A really good thing at Dr Ushma's is the way she would explain her exercises and encourage us to do them at home using our usual home implements - hence we felt that her focus was always on continuous improvement at all times.

Home exercises are with every day objects, no expensive equipment.

She is a highly empathetic person. Along with this, speech therapy with Priyanka has worked in tandem. Priyanka is well informed and was highly patient and determined with my child in the initial stages of therapy and has brought him to a near compliance now. I would strongly recommend Dr.Ushma and Priyanka to anybody opting for SI and speech therapy.

Dr Ushma was kind enough to take my daughter in for therapy while we came to India for holiday.  Her center is bigger than any other private therapy clinic I have been in Australia. She has lots of different sensory toys,uses various techniques and exercises to understand and satisfy your child's needs. She is kind enough to let the parents in during the sessions unlike other centers.She regularly updates you about things you can do for your child at home for sensory issues. Since my daughter started visiting her center, I have had friends telling me that my daughter has started speaking few sentences without any prompts and her sensory issues has reduced.All this happened in just 1.5 months of therapy. I only wish we could clone her and have many more Dr Ushma in India as she and her center is truly a gift to special need kids.More people should support her and spread awareness about Activ Kaarya.

We had been bringing it to the notice of all the doctors we were consulting but no one seem to be confident. Some even suggested is to get an MRI done.it was very stressful for us to even imagine about the occult reasons doctors were quoting.We happened to stumble upon active kaarya and Ushma maam. From the first talk over the phone itself she was very reassuring. She gave us an early appointment sensing our anxiety. Her clinic came across as very child friendly and hardly as a clinic, and more like a children play area. The staff also very understanding and gentle. After a detailed observation session Dr Ushma concluded that the problem was not neurological by physical and that too related to one of the muscle sets. I was astounded as why such an obvious thing was not detected by the child specialists. We started with her sessions to correct the torticollis by means of physiotherapy. She always is very comforting and gentle with the children and employs her vast experience in the US and in India effectively. Her efforts have borne fruit and today our daughters neck is almost straight. She has also taught us self help measures to increase the effectiveness of the therapy. A must visit place for all suffering with any problem related to even infants. I have not come across any physiotherapist in Bangalore who can handle infants except Dr Ushma. Thank you mam for everything.
